Sermon

Hello and welcome, my friends! Today, I want to talk about the importance of maintaining strong friendships and personal relationships, as it is something that is vital for our well-being as humans. In the Bible, we see numerous examples of the importance of friendship. Proverbs 27:17 states, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." This verse illustrates how our friendships can sharpen us, helping us to grow and become better people. Moreover, Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us that "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up." This verse highlights how important it is to have a support system in place, especially during difficult times. We were not meant to go through life alone. God created us to be social beings, and we are meant to build connections with others. In fact, in John 15:12-13, Jesus tells his disciples, "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." We see here that the love and friendship that we have for one another should be modeled after the love that Jesus had for his disciples. It is a selfless love that seeks to serve and care for others, even to the point of sacrificing oneself. So, my friends, let us not take our friendships and personal relationships for granted. Let us actively seek to cultivate and maintain them. Let us love one another, support one another, and be there for each other through the good times and the bad. Remember, as it says in Proverbs 18:24, "A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Let us strive to be that kind of friend to others, and let us be grateful for those who are that kind of friend to us. Thank you for listening, and may God bless you and your relationships.
